Within this NFR sub-category, SO₂, PM_2.5, PM₁₀, TSP, As, Cd, Hg, Pb, Zn, PCDD/F, and PCB emissions from the production of zinc are reported.

Methodological issues

Activity data

The production figures for the year 2016 were taken from the annual statistical report of the German association for non-ferrous metals [1].

Emission factors

The emission factors are either default values according to the 2016 EMEP/EEA air pollutant emission inventory guidebook or determined in several research projects. The EF for the heavy metals (HM) are taken from a research project [2].

Recalculations

Activity Data: No changes compared to Submission 2017.

Emission Factors: Recalculations have been carried out for all reported heavy metals due to the application of new emission factor values (see information on emission factors above).

For pollutant-specific information on recalculated emission estimates reported for Base Year and 2015, please see the pollutant specific recalculation tables following chapter 8.1 - Recalculations.

Planned improvements
